Episode 98 - Bobbie Brown, Sweet Surprise

When Nick asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I told him “Cherry Pie”.  Every boys dream is to get a chance to talk to a legendary video vixen and we started at the top with the amazing, brilliant, funny, brutally honest bad a** Bobbie Brown, known to many as the “Cherry Pie” girl from the band Warrant’s 1990 smash video of the same name.   Best-selling author, Model, Actor, Star Search champion and mother, Bobbie doesn’t pull any punches and tells it like it is.  

Episode 97 – Melissa Rivers, Who’s Wearing Who

Ever been stuck in a group text?  If this episode was one, there is no text we rather be glued too than one with Melissa.   Nothing was off limits.  We got the lowdown on being fashions top cop for over a decade, what it was like being stuck in the mud with a bunch of celebrities, a well-documented job interview process, and of course a lot of great stories about her legendary, comedic genius mother Joan.

Episode 95 - Jeff Scott, Piano Man

Jeff has one of the best jobs in comedy .  House pianist and archivist for the World Famous Comedy Store.  Jeff has made a home in the Original Room since 1995.    Serving as a confidant to Mitzi Shore until her passing, he has stories to make your head spin, and we tried to pack as many of them as we could in this hour chat.   It’s a history lesson of the Comedy Store,  the secrets and haunts of the building, chance hangs with Robin Williams, and possibly even a tear or two.

Episode 94 - Brian Holtzman, Bottoms Up!

When you hear the saying “broke the mold”, “shot out of a cannon”, “no holds barred”, they made all of those in the image of  a man who only needs to go by one name, HOLTZMAN…. These stories are amazing, and can’t be described in words.  And as much as we want to describe here the show, you are going to need to listen for yourself.  This one is a gem of gems, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it.    Enjoy it!

Episode 92- Brian Volk-Weiss, Toying Around

Just when you think it’s safe to say we couldn’t up our game anymore with guests that far outclass us, we drop Brian on you.   Founder of Comedy Dynamics, Brian is responsible for some of the most epic comedy sh*t put out the several years by Ali Wong, Kevin  Hart, Jim Gaffigan, and Jay Mohr.   The list of credits is mind boggling, and we talked about it all, including his start working for manager Barry Katz, and shepherding  the career of Dane Cook, 

Episode 90 – Jay Mohr, Pinned Down

Having us from hello.  Hot right out of the gate, Jay smashes us with knowledge.  We jumped right into the deep end of the pool hitting all topics from kids and their lack of attention span, trying to pin down career highlights that span 30 years, the secret of the communal hot tub, helping others through coaching and his new special out by Comedy Dynamics, American Treasure.    

Episode 87 – Evan Shapiro, All hail the President

Listen to this episode, or Scopes gets it!!   Officially one year in, we are celebrating our anniversary with a bang.   Evan Shaprio, President of National Lampoon joins us to debate Philly vs NY/NJ sports and to rehash some old wounds.  He is a man with a plan,  bringing the Lampoon back to the forefront of comedy. 

Episode 88 – Kerryn Feehan, Running with scissors

Totally the most fun we can have over Zoom with the hysterical, Marshfield, MA native, Dancer, model, retired professional drinker and amazing stand-up comedian we chat about getting fired on her birthday from the worst jobs she had..   Her semi biographical short film Sh*tfaced, coming up stand-up, amazing roast battles, and a zillion other things predictably, unpredictable

Episode 85 – Madeleine Smithberg, What’s Cooking?

Madeleine Smithberg, co-creator of a little program called “The Daily Show & host of the new Youtube show “MAD IN THE KITCHEN” joins us to all shop.  During her tenure at TDS, she was directly responsible for the casting of  Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, & Ed Helms,   Know them?   

Episode 83 - Jamie Kennedy, Gettin’ That D

On the heels of his 50th birthday (yes, Randy from Scream is 50!!)  Jamie dropped in with us to talk about his new comedy special “Stoopid Smart” out on the ultra cool Tubi platform and hosting the next season of the Comedy Dynamics stand-up comedy showcase series, Coming To The Stage   

Episode 82 - Jackie Martling, Respect!

The legendary Jackie "The Jokeman" Martling has no idea who we are yet agreed to come on and was such a great sport and pegged us pretty good.  We got a ton of stories on his early stand up, helping to start Long Island comedy club Governors, all his years on the Howard Stern Show, and great stories about The Gregalicious' comedy idol,  Rodney Dangerfield 

Episode 66 - Erica Rhodes, Brought the Funny

We uncovered Erica went to college as a chelo major and that her entrance into comedy was pitching a comedy agent before she even did stand up. spoiler alert...it worked!  She has had a number 1 iTunes comedy album, was on NBC's Bring the Funny,  grew up on the A Prairie Home Companion radio show and is one of the funniest working comedians out there now.

Episode 52 - Anthony Scaramucci

If you know Anthony, you know nothing was held back.  If you ever wanted to listen in to what a conversation over some beers sounds like with The Mooch, this is the one to listen too.   Politics, stocks, hip hip, the virus, family and some less than honorable people, we touched them all.    

Episode 50 - Barry Katz, TMD’s Holy Sh*t Moment!

Barry hosts his own podcast INDUSTRY STANDARD and is a tv-film-record producer, podcast host, and talent manager who is universally known for helping launch the careers of - Dave Chappelle, Nick Swardson, Louie CK, Bill Burr, Marc Maron, Whitney Cummings, Bill Bellamy, Wanda Sykes, Jim Gaffigan, Dane Cook, Jeffrey Ross, & Jim Breuer.  It truly is our Holy Sh*t moment. 

Episode 46 - Larry the Cable Guy

Larry The Cable Guy stumbled into our virtual studio clearly by mistake and sat in with us for an incredibly funny time. On the verge of his new comedy special coming out, 10+ years in the making, we talked about how he got started in stand-up, the origins of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, some great advice for aspiring comedians, and of course, what's going on in virus lock down. git-r-done we did.

Thank you for blessing me with a mind to rhyme and two hype feet.....TMD scored another hot one welcoming firecracker Punkie Johnson to the 900# Mangina call-in hotline.  How lucky are we to grab The Comedy Store paid regular while she is in the process of blowing up.   You can see her on Crank Yankers, Light Out with David Spade, and some upcoming film with super star we cant tell you about....
